To begin with, one of the first things that we love about the Acer Aspire E15 is its amazing display.
All too often, when it comes to laptops that are affordably priced, corners have to be cut somewhere. And, more often than not, those “corners” are the display.
However, while most other affordable laptops might have lower quality screens, that is certainly not the case with Acer Aspire E15.
This laptop actually features a full high definition (HD) display that is particularly brilliant at displaying colors. So, whether you are a gamer who wants to see every detail, an artist who needs to see every detail, or just someone who values high quality visuals, this laptop should work quite well for you.
A Super Long Battery Life
Something else that we really appreciate about this offering from Acer is the fact that it has an extra-long battery life.
The whole point of having a laptop is so that you can go where you need to go and do what you need to do, all without worrying about being “plugged in” throughout the day. Fortunately, those worries quickly become a thing of the past with this laptop.
The battery, on a full charge, can easily last a workday and beyond Plus, unlike so many other laptops on the market, the battery will not quickly go from working great to barely working.
You can count on a battery that starts out awesome and that stays awesome for the longhaul when you choose this computer from Acer.
Super Fast and Super Easy To Use
Everyone, at one point or another, has struggled with a laptop that is slow to boot and, even worse yet, slow to work.
However, you don’t have to worry about speed with this Acer laptop. It comes equipped with only the programs, apps, and features that you actually need in order to get good use out of it. Thus, you do not have to worry about a bunch of unnecessary apps slowing your computer down. In fact, nothing slows this computer down!
It is one of the speediest and most efficient laptops of its type, so if you are someone who lacks in the patience department, don’t worry. This Acer laptop will keep you happy every time you use it.
Not The Best Webcam You Can Find
While we really do love this laptop, we have to be the first to admit that its webcam is not the best.
The quality is very grainy, and it also tends to stop and freeze a lot.
For some people, this won’t be a big deal. However, if you are hoping to take videos, video chat with friends, or do other things that require a quality webcam, then this is probably not the best laptop option for you.
Of course, you could always buy and hook up an external webcam, and this device is compatible with many of them, but we will leave it up to you about whether or not that is a sacrifice that you wish to make.
While this laptop is very affordable, it is also not quite as lightweight as some of the other options on our list.
We actually think that this is a good thing. It seems that the makers had to choose between a lightweight laptop and a sturdy laptop, and they chose the latter.
With that said, this is a tough, durable laptop that will last you for years to come with just a little bit of care. It is, in other words, not fragile in the least. With that said, though, it is a bit heavier than we might have liked.
You probably won’t have the easiest of times trying to tuck it into your backpack or luggage. If that doesn’t bother you, though, we think that you will appreciate the fact that, while somewhat awkward, this laptop is built to last.
A Very Attractive Little Laptop
We know that, in the grand scheme of laptops, looks don’t really matter all that much. With that said, though, there is nothing wrong with wanting a laptop that is both attractive and functional.
And, we have to stay that, this laptop really fits the bill on both counts. We have already talked about how it is easy to use, but in terms of attractiveness, it also wins out.
We love the dark gray matte finish found on the lid, the crosshatch pattern, and the aluminum looking bridge. While the laptop may not actually be made up of all of those expensive, aforementioned materials, it certainly looks like it is.
So, if you are trying to convey that you have a classy, expensive laptop without actually spending all of that money, this is the way to go.
An Overly Flexible Lid And Keyboard
When it comes to flexibility, laptops are kind of a tricky thing. You want a lid and a keyboard that have a little bit of “give” or flexibility so that you do not have to worry about accidentally snapping them in two.
With that said, though, you also do not want too much of either of these things since you want your laptop to be able to stand up to even the toughest wear and tear.
Ultimately, this model features too much “give” in the lid and keyboard area for our liking. Thus, this is the kind of laptop that you’ll have to be careful with at all times. If you can handle that, though, it shouldn’t be a problem.
A DVD Player And A Program To Play Them
It is getting harder and harder these days to find a computer that actually has a DVD player. This is especially true for cheaper laptops, which are typically so “bare bones” that you don’t get those types of features.
However, with the Acer Aspire E15, you do get an actual DVD player, and you even get pre-included software so that you can have a great viewing experience with your DVD. The program is called CyberLink PowerDVD 14, and it’s a great way to enjoy your favorite films.
Get Help From The Acer Care Center
This laptop also comes pre-loaded with the Acer Care Center. It is responsible for checking your overall system health on a regular basis. It also lets you know when software updates are available or system updates so that you can keep your computer running great.
We really appreciate the fact that this Acer comes with such helpful software. It is obvious that the company is committed to helping consumers have a good experience with their laptops.
With laptops, you should always consider whether or not they have an issue with overheating as many of them, unfortunately, do. When a laptop overheats, it can easily cause damage to the internal parts of the laptop. In some cases, it could even lead to a fire or other dangers.
Fortunately, in our experience, this laptop didn’t get overly hot. Even when streaming consistently or using for several minutes in a row, the laptop maintains a relatively normal temperature. The underside and hinge can get a little hot, but not to the point of being uncomfortable or presenting a danger.
Enjoy A Warranty For Peace Of Mind
This laptop comes standard with a one-year warranty. However, the exact warranty you get may vary depending on where you buy, so make sure you know what your exact warranty or guarantee is before you buy.
In any case, getting some kind of warranty is great for easing your mind. While this laptop is more affordable than most, it’s still an investment. And, having a warranty helps you to protect your investment.
Upgrade When You’re Ready
We love that the Acer is designed to grow with you. While it works well as an affordable laptop when you’re on a budget, it can also be updated into an even better laptop when you have the money.
Acer has placed a small “upgrade panel” on the bottom of this laptop. When you’re ready, you can remove it (or have someone remove it) to do things like improve performance, upgrade RAM, or enhance the storage drive.
Obviously, this is the type of thing that should only be done by people who know what they’re doing to avoid damaging the laptop. However, you can typically get affordable professional upgrades done if you know where to look, and this will enable you to get even more use and life out of your computer.
Something we really like about this laptop is the fact that you can easily multitask on it. A lot of the time, when using a laptop, you will experience pausing, stuttering, browser closing, and other problems when you have too many tabs open at once.
However, this laptop is really built to handle multitasking. Open as many tabs as you want, and you should still be able to flip through them with ease. While most laptops really can’t handle this type of heavy-duty use, it’s really no problem for the Acer Aspire E15.
This feature makes this laptop perfect for busy people with a lot to get done at once.
With a lot of laptops, especially the smaller ones, you have to deal with less than perfect sound quality. It’s just kind of the “curse” of smaller laptops, which often don’t have the best speaker placement.
However, this little laptop has surprisingly good sound. When you turn it up all the way or at least most of the way up, you can easily make music heard throughout a small room. The sound is also good for when you’re watching videos on your laptop or want to plug in your headphones and jam out privately.
We’ve already mentioned that you can easily use this laptop to play music or watch movies. However, it doesn’t work for every entertainment need. Unfortunately, this laptop is not the laptop you’ll want to use if gaming is your thing.
It does not handle fancy graphics very well and may not load graphics-laden games. If it does, don’t be surprised if you get a lot of freezing and shutting down, basically making it not worth the hassle.
While this is a really great laptop all around, you’ll want to skip it if gaming is your thing.
As you can see, there’s a lot to think about when determining whether or not the Acer Aspire E15 is the right choice for you or not. While it has plenty of “pros,” it is also not perfect and not for every person. Our suggestion is to take some time, do your research, and maybe even check this computer out in person when possible. That way, you won’t have to spend a dime until you know for sure that this is the right laptop for you and your needs.
