What Are the Best Razer Blade Laptops?

  1. Blade Stealth

Razer Blade Stealth 13.3" QHD+ Touchscreen Ultrabook - 7th Generation...
  • Every Razer Blade Stealth is CNC-milled from a single block of aircraft-grade aluminum for maximum durability and a sleek, beautiful form
  • The 13.3" Razer Blade Stealth is available in a black or gunmetal gray finish. The gunmetal variant features a tone-on-tone Razer logo for a sleek, solid and professional design
  • Experience amazing color saturation with the QHD+ 3200 x 1800 touch enabled display. Images are bright and clearly visible with wide viewing angles of up to 178°

As the name suggests, the Blade Stealth is built for discreet use. Want to move around a powerful laptop that won’t use up a lot of space? The gorgeous 13.3” display is big enough to show you every pixel on the 3200 x 1800 touchscreen display. Big things come in small packages – and that’s one of the most apparent facts of this computer’s design.

But for such a small laptop, it doesn’t lack in features. With an eight-generation Intel Core i7-8550U processor, it has enough computing power for most peoples’ standard operations and then some. Four cores with hyperthreading and Intel’s newest architecture mean multitasking and keeping multiple tabs running is no problem. The 16GB of RAM help with this as well, giving enough responsiveness for everything outside of high-end video rendering and the like.

But the Stealth can do a bit of that, too. It’s built for creativity in a sense thanks to the touchscreen interface. It comes complete with onboard UHD 620 Graphics from Intel and of course the beautiful backlit keyboard – with countless programmable color options thanks to Razer’s Chroma design.

Our Rating: 5/5

It’s a solid entry into Razer’s lineup, and this means it excels in terms of spec and in terms of being a great computer for its class. Named the best ultraportable laptop of 2017, it’s gotten a lot of attention in a short time. And despite being an expensive model for its class and listing at around $1200, the specs and user feedback it’s gotten more than demonstrate its worth.

  1. Razer Blade 15 (New Model)

Razer Blade 15: World's Smallest 15.6" Gaming Laptop - 60Hz Full HD...
  • 15. 6" 60Hz Full HD edge-to-edge display (4. 9mm bezels), color calibrated
  • Thin and compact, durable CNC aluminum anybody (0. 68" x 9. 25" x 13. 98")
  • 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H 6 core Processor

Aptly named the Razer Blade, this is the newest model in Razer’s line up. This model aims to be a middle-of-the-line powerhouse that is geared toward gaming. But it doesn’t mean you can expect a clunky product just because it isn’t the Stealth – it’s still only .66” thin! It also comes with a 15.6” edge-to-edge display with a 144Hz refresh rate. That means great-looking games or great-looking anything depending on what you prefer.

This laptop is capable of a lot. With an eight-generation Intel Core i7-8750H, it offers six cores and twelve with hyperthreading. Each runs at a base speed of 2.2GHz, and you can push them to 4.1GHz with turbo. It has 9MB of Cache and Intel’s HM370 Chipset. There’s also 16GB of DDR4 RAM, expandable to 32 to satisfy any need.

As for the graphics, it comes with a powerful NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060GB with 6GB of dedicated GDDR VRAM. This one also has Razer Chroma backlighting in the keyboard, meaning it can look as enticing as the HD gaming graphics on the screen.

Our Rating: 4/5

This is a solid new entry to Razer’s growing lineup, and a great choice for all types of gamers. It’s over $2000 which makes it one of the higher-end models as far as the price goes. Luckily, it has the features and sleek design necessary to warrant such a tag. Some models may offer a higher-quality GPU, but this is one of the hotter new gaming laptops on the market.

  1. Razer Blade Pro

Razer Blade Pro 17: Gaming Laptop - 4K Touchscreen - ULP Mechanical...
  • World's first THX Certified Mobile Device for immersive visual and audio experience
  • 17.3" 4K UHD G-SYNC touchscreen display with 100% Adobe RGB color space coverage
  • VR Ready with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics

This one even has pro in its name, so it’s a direct indicator of how much stock the company put into the model. It’s another gaming laptop, and one that’s received awards and commendations for both its high-performance capabilities and its slim design.

While light, it comes with a massive 17.3” display which supports up to 4K resolution. It’s VR ready, and brings an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, meaning you can play the latest games on the best settings while still enjoying a smooth framerate.

The design is well-rounded throughout, offering an Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU. Enjoy quad-core performance and hyperthreading, with speeds up to 3.8GHz possible in Turbo mode. Combine that with 16GB of RAM and a 256GB PCIe SSD, and you have a machine capable of nearly anything – and one that will excel in gaming performance.

Our Rating: 4/5

It comes out ahead not just because of its features but because of its reasonable price, going for around $1800 on most sites. It’s solid in all areas, slim, stylish, and most importantly, it’s built to offer gamers the best performance for the cash.

While Razer Blade’s line of laptops may be limited at the moment, they’re expanding all the time. They also favor portability and have certain trademark technologies throughout – like the Razer Chroma color options. What should buyers look for when they’re shopping for Razer laptops, or comparing them to other models?

Buyer’s Guide for Razer Laptops: Compare Based on Product Class

There are a lot of things to remember when shopping for a laptop. One of these is to always compare products of the same class. It is possible to rate on features alone, but you won’t get an accurate representation of value unless you look at a computer besides those it’s similar to.

When you’re looking for a Razer laptop, it’s important to measure them by the standards and prices of other computers aimed at slim design. They should also have a similar approach to graphics – favoring 4K graphical capabilities despite the light weight. Portable doesn’t have to limited, especially when it comes to the display.

There are a few important parts to consider if you’re looking for high-end gaming or just solid performance in general. This include:

  • Intel Core i7 Processor: With four cores and hyperthreading, any user can enjoy smooth performance without fear of lag. Make sure the models have the eight-generation architecture if that’s what you’re looking for. Older Razer Blade laptops could have the seventh generation.
  • 16 GB of RAM: While 8 can be passable in some cases, 16 is good for those who want to use their laptops for high-end graphical tasks that are very demanding. More memory means less stress on the machine, which can help it run smoother and stay cooler.
  • Dedicated Graphics (for gaming): This one only counts if you’re looking for a computer to game on. If so, look for models with the NVIDIA 1060 or some card around that lineup. It provides plenty of power and is a staple in many gaming builds.

But what about beyond Razer Blade’s small selection of laptops? They have plenty of gear, each piece being able to improve a person’s setup in some way. We’ll take a look at some of the main categories of equipment and talk about who they could potentially help.

Top Options for Razer Blade Computer Gear

Here are some of the tools you can use to improve your setup, and get more out of your computing experience with Razer Blade.

  1. All-in-One Razer Chroma LED Strip Kit

Razer Chroma is such a phenomenon among its users that they may desire to get the same effect even beyond their computer. These LED strips attack easily to most surfaces, and give users the same type of programmable color options they love in their Razer backlit keyboards.

Enjoy a vibrant display of colors, synchronizing the strips to create a smooth transition effect, a central theme, or a combination. Put the strips inside a computer tower, on the side of a table, around the base of the floor, or anywhere else – these color strips can help improve the look of a rig or the room it’s in.

  1. Stand for Razer Blade Stealth

  • Designed for Optimal Cooling: An open design underneath the laptop helps with unrestricted airflow, keeping laptops cool not thermal throttling
  • Durable, Aluminum Construction: Built to last with the same, high-quality, anodized CNC aluminum design as the Razer Blade family of laptops

This is built for only the stealth, making it a model-specific piece of equipment. Still, that doesn’t mean it isn’t something an owner should consider. Being able to elevate a computer can be comfortable for your viewing experience or even for casual use.

Given the Stealth is already a compact model by design, a little boost can be helpful. The aluminum construction is sturdy, and a dedicated cable management slot lets you charge your computer without bending up the cable.

One thing to check for is packaged deals – sometimes Razer will bundle computers with equipment. If you can get your preferred laptop with a nice accessory or two, it’s an even better buy!

How Does Dell’s XPS Compare with Lenovo’s Yoga 910 and HP’s Spectre X360?

In order to make this review accurate and detailed enough, it is important to compare the XPS with other laptops within its price range and user category. Keep on reading below to learn about how the XPS compared with Lenovo’s Yoga 910 and HP’s Spectre X360.

Dell XPS vs Lenovo Yoga 910

Dell XPS Thin & Light Laptop - 13.3' Full HD Touch, Intel Core...
Lenovo Yoga 910 2-in-1 14' FHD IPS Touch-Screen Ultrabook, Intel Core...

Lenovo is one of the leading manufacturers of performance laptops and 2-in-1s worldwide, and they are giving Dell’s XPS range serious competition with their Yoga 910 selection.

The Lenovo Yoga 910 has a 13.9-inch display, which comes with a full HD or ultra HD screen resolution. This means that users can watch full HD or ultra HD content, as long as they get a compatible computer device. The XPS range, on the other hand, also delivers 1080p and 4k display.

Lenovo Yoga 910 2-in-1 14" FHD IPS Touch-Screen Ultrabook, Intel Core...
  • 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7500U Dual-Core Processor 2.7 GHz (max boost speed up to 3.5GHz) 4MB Cache, Intel HD Graphics 620
  • 14-inch Full HD IPS 10-point multitouch screen, 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution Widescreen LED, Convertible 360° flip-and-fold design, Stylus Capable Screen, Windows Ink Capable, Stylus not included
  • 8 GB DDR4 SDRAM 2133 MHz, 256GB Solid State Drive, Backlit keyboard, Fingerprint Reader, Thunderbolt port for connecting advanced monitors and external drives, NO Optical Drive

But the difference in display size can impact the overall quality of text and images that appear on your screen when comparing models with the same screen resolution.

The XPS 13 range can deliver slightly increased display quality because it has more horizontal and vertical lines per square inch compared to Yoga 910s with equal screen resolutions. The XPS 13 selection, on the other hand, may deliver slightly reduced picture clarity because it has less pixel density than a Yoga 910 with an equal screen resolution.

The bottom of line is that Dell’s XPS gives laptop buyers the freedom to choose which display suits them best, while the Yoga 910 limits them to a 13.9-inch screen. And, retailing at a starting price of $799.99, the XPS range appeals to more price-savvy laptop buyers.

Dell XPS vs HP Spectre X360

Dell XPS Thin & Light Laptop - 13.3' Full HD Touch, Intel Core...
HP Spectre x360-13t Quad Core(8th Gen Intel i7-8550U, 16GB RAM, 512GB...

HP’s Spectre X360 is another laptop range that deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as Dell’s XPS. The Spectre X360 run Windows 10 Home OS.

Like the Dell XPS, the HP Spectre X360 series offer laptop users a choice between a 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch display. When it comes to performance, the XPS range is on an almost equal level with the Spectre X360. Intel’s Core i-series processors, which are used on both series, deliver solid performance.

HP Spectre x360-13t Quad Core(8th Gen Intel i7-8550U, 1 TB PCIe NVMe...
  • HP Factory Sealed with full HP Premium Warranty for ALL parts. NOT self-upgrade. NEWEST 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8550U (1.8 GHz base frequency, up to 4 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 8 MB cache, 4 cores)+Intel UHD Graphics 620 (16 GB), Windows 10 Home 64 - Dark Ash Color
  • 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD, 16 GB LPDDR3-2133 SDRAM (onboard), HP TrueVision FHD IR Camera with Dual array digital microphone, Webcam supports Windows Hello
  • 13.3" diagonal FHD IPS micro-edge WLED-backlit touch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass NBT (1920 x 1080), HP Active Stylus

When comparing the exact performance parameters, the XPS range is slightly better than the Spectre X360. Both have pretty user-friendly keyboards so you can easily operate your laptop.

One area where the XPS beats the Spectre X360 is when it comes to battery performance. Dell XPS machines generally tend to deliver an extra one hour if battery life on a single charge.

Overall, both laptops are a great option. They deliver compact performance and are beautifully designed. Opt for the XPS if you need to constantly use your laptop in the go. But if portability is the number one priority for you, consider buying the Spectre X360.

Pros and Cons of the XPS

The XPS delivers a wide range of benefits to its users, but it is not without its shortcomings. Keep reading on below to find out some of the noteworthy advantages and disadvantages of this lineup of laptops from Dell.

As a laptop user, one of your first priorities should be to get a machine that will get the job done without resulting in unnecessary downtime.

Dell’s XPS range is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a performance laptop on a budget. The Intel Core i-series processors that these laptops run are proven performance boosters.

The XPS introduces you to the world of HD resolution. HD resolutions mean improved text and picture quality. Whether you intend to use your laptop for work, play, or both, you’ll love the beautiful, crisp and refined colors on your screen.

The XPS introduces you to the world of HD resolution. HD resolutions mean improved text and picture quality. Whether you intend to use your laptop for work, play, or both, you’ll love the beautiful, crisp and refined colors on your screen.

Dell XPS laptops can stay turned on up to 10 hours without requiring a recharge. This makes them a great option for those who need to use a personal computer on the move. While the XPS laptops may not be the lightest in the consumer market, they are still pretty lightweight and can be lugged between meetings or classes without much trouble.

The XPS range runs Microsoft’s Windows 10 Home OS. This opens the doors for you to enjoy using some of the latest and exciting features that the OS has to offer, including a personal digital assistant called Cortana, Windows Hello, Edge browser, Start menu, Xbox streaming and many more. Unlike some other comparable laptops, Dell XPS laptops don’t run too hot or too loud. This significantly boosts user experience.

One of the most noticeable things about the XPS is the front camera placement. Instead of conveniently being placed at the top of the display, it has been installed at the bottom part of the display, which makes camera operation quite a hassle. When used in rooms with optimal light conditions, XPS laptops deliver remarkable display quality. However, in bright places, increasing the brightness of the screen to the maximum possible level may not help improve image clarity as much. With that said, Dell should consider the prospect of increasing the maximum brightness of the display by at least 20 percent.

Pros

  • Reliable Performance
  • Visual Appeal
  • Enhanced Viewing Experience
  • Great Battery Life
  • Easy to Carry Around
  • The Best of Windows 10 Home OS
  • Runs Pretty Nicely

Cons

  • Awkwardly-Placed Webcam
  • Brightness

The Final Verdict

With all its shortcomings, the XPS range has terrific laptops that deliver well-rounded performance for regular users, but they are not designed to serve heavy graphics users, like photographers and video editors, equally well.

If you’re considering getting a beautiful, solid performance with a long battery life, these laptops are a great buy. Rarely do you get so many amazing features bundled into one laptop these days. The best part is that you will only need to spend between $799.99 and $1299.99. Now that sounds like a really good deal.

A 4-star rating sums up the good and the bad of the XPS, or what do you think? Feel free to contribute to the discussion by providing your feedback.

The Logitech G613 is the best wireless gamer keyboard that you can find in the market, bar none.

Despite being a wireless peripheral, the G613 has never once dropped a connection despite having several wireless devices on the desk. It’s like having a wired keyboard in terms of responsiveness and stability.

Since it’s a wireless device, many of you are probably concerned with its battery life. Well, a full battery will last for over a year. Obviously, that’s a non-issue for this keyboard. It also comes with a slew of features like media controls, dedicated macros, and a non-removable wrist rest.

The keyboard comes with a proprietary switch with a travel distance of just 3mm. The feedback is rather subtle and mild which makes it perfect for quiet environments.

It does lack backlighting, which is likely a move to maximize battery life.

Razer Ornata Chroma Gaming Keyboard: Mecha-Membrane Key Switches -...
  • High-Performance Mecha-Mechanical Switches: Provides the tactile feedback of mechanical key press on a comfortable, soft-cushioned, membrane, rubber dome switch suitable for gaming
  • Ultimate Personalization and Gaming Immersion with Razer Chroma: Offers effortless, full integration with popular game titles and syncs with Razer hardware, Philips Hue, and gear from 30+ partners; supports 16.8 million colors on individually backlit keys
  • Fully Programmable Macro Support: Razer Hypershift allows for all keys and keypress combinations to be remapped to execute complex commands

The Razer Ornata Chroma is membrane keyboard with a mechanical performance.

The keyboard uses the Razer Mecha-Membrane Technology, which combines the clicky feedback of mechanical keys with the conventional rubber dome switch. We have to say that Razer has done a great job with the Ornata Chroma as we really loved our typing experience with it. Who knows that a tactile point and clicky feedback can improve a membrane keyboard?

The keys are also individually backlit and can be programmed up to 16.8 million customizable color options through Razer Synapse. The leatherette wrist rest does a great job of making gaming sessions a lot more comfortable. On a downside, the faux leather tends to deteriorate quickly especially if your hands tend to sweat.

The Ornata Chroma is the perfect combination of mechanical sound without waking up the neighbors every time you type.

Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro L RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Cherry...
  • Brilliant RGB lighting with 16.7 million colors - no dull, muted colors here. A patented design makes each per key LED pop-out and shine.
  • Multiple lighting modes - customize each color with or without software. Preset modes include color wave, Breathing, and unique responsive effects.
  • 100% authentic CHERRY MX red switches - gamers demand the best, which is why the Master keys Pro L only uses 100% authentic CHERRY MX switches.

The Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro L is a versatile keyboard with a superb build.

One thing that we love about the MasterKeys Pro L is its minimal, space-saving design. It doesn’t have oversized borders and other funky design features. It does feel like a quality keyboard with an impressive build. The frame doesn’t flex and we felt no vibration while typing. It’s an MX brown too so the keys are silent with a satisfying tactile feedback.

As you can see, the keyboard only features white LEDs, which is perfect for people who don’t want their desks looking like the ‘80s Miami Vice. Instead, we have these white LEDs that look on-point. There’s a reflective metal plate that helps amplify the brightness if you’re gaming at night.

If you want your gamer keyboard in a clean and tidy package, this is it.
